Paul Seixas Tour de France 2027, Digi Mart USA News: Will Paul Seixas be at the start of the next Tour de France? The question is already drawing attention in the cycling world as the 2027 season approaches.
Speaking on the Danish Eurosport podcast Radio Tour d’Eurosport, Tobias Lund Andresen, a teammate of the young Frenchman at Decathlon CMA CGM, gave a fairly firm opinion on whether Seixas could ride the Grand Boucle next summer.
The 24-year-old Dane said his chances of taking the start of the Tour are extremely low. “There is probably a 0% chance,” he said, before naming Olav Kooij as the sprinter who should be selected.
“Olav Kooij is the one who should take part. I know Paul just said he wanted to be present at the world championships, but I don’t see why he wouldn’t take part in the next Tour de France,” he also said.
Like Olav Kooij, Tobias Lund Andresen joined the French team at the start of the year, and he also discussed how roles are divided among the sprinters. According to him, the Dutch rider has priority for mass finishes in the Grand Boucle, but the Dane does not intend to limit himself to the role of lead-out rider.
“It’s quite amusing to see all the discussions about my place in the team, whether I would be allowed to race for myself or whether I should simply lead out Olav’s sprints. Yet things have always been very clear: we are two distinct sprinters and we each have our own train,” he explained.
Tobias Lund Andresen’s own programme already appears to be taking shape. The Dane is expected to ride several classics early in the season, before taking part in the Giro d’Italia (May 8 to 30) and the European championships.
It remains to be seen whether Paul Seixas will also line up on the Giro roads next spring, or whether the French team will reserve a different programme for his second professional season.
