France domestic heating oil prices continue to fall, Digi Mart USA News: Domestic heating oil prices in France continued to decline on Wednesday, November 4, offering welcome relief to households that heat their homes with oil. Prices have been falling for several days, and households hope further reductions will arrive before winter.

According to FioulReduc, the average price on Wednesday was 1,790 euros per 1,000 liters, a decrease of 24 euros from the previous day. Fioulmarket reported an average price of 1,672 euros, down 34 euros in 24 hours.

PrixFioul listed the price of the day at 1,770 euros, 30 euros less than the price recorded Tuesday morning.

Regional data from FioulReduc show that Île-de-France had the most favorable domestic heating oil price on Wednesday, at an average of 1,731 euros per 1,000 liters. Picardy followed at 1,765 euros, and Brittany at 1,766 euros.

At the other end of the ranking, Alsace remained the most expensive region at 1,850 euros, with Auvergne just behind at 1,845 euros.

The gap between Île-de-France and Alsace reaches 119 euros, while the difference between Brittany and Alsace is 84 euros. Households looking to fill their tanks before winter are therefore advised to compare prices before placing an order.

The decline occurs against a backdrop of lower oil prices. In October, the French government decided to release part of its strategic fuel reserves in an effort to reduce pump prices.

The source notes that this decision helped ease the oil market, although its direct effect on heating oil prices is difficult to quantify. On Wednesday, November 4, the Brent barrel stood at 104.41 euros and the WTI barrel at 96.72 euros, according to Prixdubaril.

Heating oil prices generally follow crude oil movements, with a lag linked to refining, transport and distribution costs. If crude prices continue to fall, domestic heating oil prices could decline further in the coming days.

However, the source cautions that further reductions remain uncertain, as prices can change quickly depending on conditions in the oil markets.
