Deep Purple postpones remaining 2026 European tour dates including four in France after Ian Gillan hospitalization, Digi Mart USA News (Leipzig, Germany): Deep Purple has postponed the rest of its 2026 European and British tour, including four concerts in France, after singer Ian Gillan was hospitalized in Leipzig following a health problem.
Gillan, 81, announced the postponement on November 2 on the advice of his doctors. The band had already postponed its concerts in Leipzig and Hamburg before deciding to cancel the remaining dates.
In a message published on November 2, Gillan said he had required emergency hospital care in Leipzig. He wrote that he had hoped doctors would allow him to finish the tour, but that the risks were far too great.
Gillan said the decision was made on the advice of his doctors and the band’s management team, and that the rest of the European and British tour was postponed until further notice. He apologized to fans for the inconvenience, calling it the best decision for everyone.
In France, Deep Purple was scheduled to perform in Strasbourg on November 10, Bordeaux on November 12, Nantes on November 13 and Lyon on November 15. Concerts planned in Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom are also postponed, and no new dates have been announced.
Deep Purple was also scheduled to perform in Latin America and Mexico in December, but it is not yet known whether those concerts will take place.
