Salamanca man arrested for fraud after reporting card charges he made himself, Digi Mart USA News (Salamanca, Spain): The National Police in Salamanca have arrested a man as the alleged perpetrator of fraud after he carried out four fraudulent charges with his bank card totaling 1,300 euros, which he had himself reported at a police station.
The events took place in July, when the cardholder and complainant made three cash withdrawals on the 23rd of 100, 500 and 500 euros, and another withdrawal the following day of 200 euros, all at the same gaming arcade in the city.
The investigation began after a complaint filed in the following days by the cardholder, who said he had not authorized the transactions and that the bank card had always remained in his possession.
Officers were able to identify the person responsible for the fraudulent charges as the complainant himself, who was also the owner of the card. They also found that, days after making the withdrawals with his card, he had filed a claim with his bank over fraudulent charges and requested the return of the money allegedly defrauded, which amounted to 1,300 euros.
The man was arrested on suspicion of fraud and, after the required paperwork was completed, was brought before a judge.
