Ocarina of Time remake Heart Piece locations, Digi Mart USA News: The remake of Ocarina of Time contains 36 Pieces of Heart, the same number as the original, but several have changed location. This guide explains where to find all of them.
The 36 Heart Pieces do not include the eight Heart Containers awarded by bosses. Players start with three hearts, bosses grant eight more, and the 36 fragments provide nine more, for a total of 20 hearts.
Some fragments are tied to time travel. The two Hyrule Field fragments require finding each one empty or depleted as an adult, then returning as a child.
The Death Mountain Crater Scrub is another notable example. It only works with young Link, and the crater drains your hearts for as long as you remain there, so it is best left until you have more hearts.
Bean-related fragments also require planning. Players buy child beans from the Zora’s River merchant, plant them in loose soil, and climb the plants seven years later.
Buying as many beans as possible early is recommended.
The remake adds help that the original lacked. Players can now see how many Heart Pieces and Gold Skulltulas they have collected in each region, and the world map shows how many remain.
Two Business Scrubs sell fragments for 100 Rupees each, and Dampe’s digging game costs 10 Rupees per attempt.
