Egypt weather cold temperatures and thunderstorms with farming advice for winter crops, Digi Mart USA News (Egypt): Egypt is experiencing a noticeable change in weather conditions on Friday, November 6, 2026, with continued falling temperatures, active winds and chances of rain across wide areas of the republic, as the country moves toward winter.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority forecasts moderate to warm weather during the day across most areas and hot conditions in southern Upper Egypt, while nights and early mornings turn cooler. The maximum temperature in Greater Cairo is expected to reach 25 degrees Celsius.

Rainfall of varying intensity is expected in several governorates. Moderate rain, which may become heavy and occasionally thundery, is forecast for the northwestern coasts and northern Lower Egypt, particularly Matrouh, El Alamein and Alexandria.

Light to moderate rain, sometimes with thunder, is also possible in southern Lower Egypt, the Canal cities, Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, the Gulf of Suez and central Sinai. Occasional thunderstorms are possible in Halaib and Shalateen.

Winds are expected to be active over most areas at intervals, increasing the sensation of cooler temperatures. Parts of the Mediterranean coast may see disruption to sea navigation, with wind speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and wave heights of 2 to 3.5 meters.

These conditions call for close monitoring of winter crops. The publisher recommends that farmers review irrigation timing and avoid excessive watering when rain is expected, watch for downy mildew, spots and fungal diseases that spread with higher humidity and dew, and intensify inspection of potato, strawberry, bean, garlic and onion crops, especially dense plantings.

Farmers are also advised to avoid spraying during rain or strong winds and to choose suitable timing once weather stabilizes. Checking drainage efficiency, particularly in low-lying land, can help prevent waterlogging and protect roots from damage.

Officials emphasize following weather bulletins and technical guidance, and managing crops according to their type and growth stage to protect plant health and reduce potential losses.
