Santos Laguna extends Tahiel Jiménez contract through 2030, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): Santos Laguna has announced the contract renewal of its star forward Tahiel Jiménez, who will continue wearing the team’s colors through 2030. The announcement came through a pair of social media posts from the club, as Santos continues its project following a reinvention during the Apertura 2026 tournament of Liga MX.
The first post shows Jiménez as a child asking for photos with legends and former Santos players, followed by images from his youth development, professional debut and present day, ending with an elevator door closing on the year 2030. The second post was the official announcement confirming the renewal of the 20-year-old player, with a contract running until the start of the new decade, or at least three more years.
Jiménez, born in Boca del Río, Veracruz, in 2006, was initially developed in the youth ranks of Querétaro before joining Santos in 2022. He made his Liga MX debut in the Clausura 2024 tournament against Necaxa at the age of 18.
During the Apertura 2026 tournament, amid a difficult crisis for Santos, Jiménez became a regular and earned a place in the starting lineup. Under the arrival of coach Renato Paiva, his minutes increased steadily until he became one of the Portuguese tactician’s starters.
With one matchday remaining, Jiménez has logged 330 minutes with the first team, including five starts and two substitute appearances. He has scored five goals and has no assists so far this tournament.
