The main venue will be the Centro Cultural Ricardo Garibay. The fair begins Wednesday, November 11, and will hold its official opening on Friday, November 13, with a program that includes book presentations, workshops, music, theater and activities for children and adults.

Peru will participate as the guest country, while Colombia returns for a second consecutive year to continue the cultural exchange that began at the first fair. The program includes 46 book presentations and 20 children’s activities, as well as inclusive offerings related to sign language, storytelling, children’s yoga, painting workshops and musical performances.

One goal of the initiative is to support independent writers and help them distribute and sell their works. Twenty independent publishers will receive free space to exhibit and sell their publications.

Authors from Michoacán, Puebla, Veracruz, Guanajuato, the State of Mexico and Mexico City will also take part, along with international representatives.

Peru’s international activities include storytelling sessions, workshops led by a traditional doctor and two musical performances. Colombia will again present its traditional magic boxes and a stage production inspired by the work of Federico García Lorca, performed by actresses from El Carmen de Viboral, Antioquia.

With this second edition, Tulancingo aims to strengthen access to reading, promote independent literary talent and build a space for cultural exchange between Mexico and other countries.
