Tim Hortons Estado de México expansion, Digi Mart USA News (Ocoyoacac, Mexico): The Government of the State of Mexico announced an investment of 1.1 billion pesos (mil 100 millones de pesos) by the international coffee chain Tim Hortons. The expansion plan aims to reach 80 locations in the state by 2028 and generate more than 1,600 jobs.

The announcement was made during the opening of the chain’s 32nd location in Ocoyoacac. Economic Development Secretary Laura González Hernández said the State of Mexico is the national leader in food and beverage preparation services, and that the opening of new establishments contributes to growth in the sector.

González Hernández said companies choose the state to install and expand their operations because of its economic dynamism and the large consumer market it represents in the center of the country. She added that “behind every investment there is confidence, support and a government that is close to and attentive to the growth of companies.” She said the government will continue to support this type of investment announcement.

Tim Hortons began operations in the State of Mexico in 2023. To date, the company has made investments totaling 440 million pesos and has generated more than 450 jobs.

The chain expects to close 2026 with a total of 40 locations in the state.
