Sibuya Group international expansion to Mexico and Poland, Digi Mart USA News (León, Spain): The Asian cuisine restaurant chain Grupo Sibuya, based in León, owner of the brands Sibuya Urban Sushi Bar and Kamado Asian Food, is advancing its international expansion and expects to open new establishments in Mexico and Poland in the coming months. Its leaders, Rubén Fernández and Kima Fuentes, confirmed this during their presentation as 2026 Business Leaders chosen by the Federation of León Entrepreneurs (Fele).
Fele president Juan María Vallejo said the selection was “a success” and cited the company as an example of the province’s capacity to generate talent and successful projects that reach well beyond its borders. “Starting in León allowed us to adapt the offer to the market and refine a model that we have been able to expand nationally.
There are more cities similar to León than Madrid, and it is easier to get from León to Madrid than from Madrid to León,” Rubén Fernández said.
Now that it operates 81 locations in Spain, Andorra and Portugal, the company considers it appropriate to “take the international leap.” Mexico was chosen because of the Spanish language, and Poland because its market situation is similar to that of Spain when Grupo Sibuya began its activity in León, with a forecast of exceeding 40 locations within five years.
The company reports annual revenue of 110 million and a workforce well above one thousand employees. It plans to ease its pace of expansion within Spain, where it has nine restaurants in Madrid and four in Seville, and to prioritize growth abroad.
“Each city is worked on gradually,” the company said.
The award will be presented during the XXIV Business Day celebration on Friday, November 27, at 8:00 p.m. in the Auditorium.
This edition introduces the 2026 Overseas Entrepreneur Distinction, which will be awarded to Daniel Llorente Viñales of Llorente Industrial, active in industry, gastronomy and viticulture, recognized for his “career, roots and commitment to León, building a bridge with Chile.”
