Mexibús direct routes to Mexico City after Metro Line B suspension, Digi Mart USA News (Estado de México, Mexico): Service on a section of Mexico City’s Metro Line B has been suspended, prompting transit alternatives for passengers traveling between the State of Mexico and the capital.
Lines 1 and 2 of the Mexibús are participating in a support operation with direct routes to Metro stations, coordinated with city authorities. The interruption followed a fire outside Metro facilities that damaged electrical cabling on the stretch between the Oceanía and Deportivo Oceanía stations.
In response, the Red de Transporte de Pasajeros (RTP) of Mexico City has provided a free service between Oceanía and Villa de Aragón. Metrobús and Mexibús units are also transporting passengers toward Ciudad Azteca.
As part of the State of Mexico’s support, Lines 1 and 2 of the Mexibús are offering direct routes. The service uses pink buses and aims to expand travel options for people who need to reach Mexico City or continue on to the State of Mexico.
State Mobility Secretary Juan Hugo de la Rosa García said transport operators from the Valle de México have also joined efforts to increase transport supply and meet passenger demand. Staff from the state Mobility Secretariat will guide passengers on routes and available alternatives.
The State of Mexico Government said it will maintain coordination with capital authorities while Metro Line B service is restored.
