Child and adolescent homicide and femicide victims in Mexico, January to September 2026, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): Following the Day of the Little Dead commemorations, the Network for Children’s Rights in Mexico (REDIM) recalled the children and adolescents who lost their lives to violence and called for guaranteed their right to live in safe environments.
REDIM reiterated the importance of remembering the girls, boys and adolescents who lost their lives to violence, and of maintaining the demand that their rights be guaranteed.
The organization said the figures reflect the seriousness of the problem in the country. Between January and September 2026, 451 girls, boys and adolescents were victims of femicide or intentional homicide in Mexico.
Of that total, 352 were victims of these crimes committed with firearms.
REDIM said the data show the urgency of strengthening prevention and protection actions for children and adolescents, as well as guaranteeing their right to life, development and growing up free from violence.
The organization also emphasized that remembering those who are no longer here should drive actions to protect those who currently face conditions of vulnerability and prevent more girls, boys and adolescents from becoming victims of violence.
REDIM noted that guaranteeing a safe and dignified childhood is a responsibility of the State and a commitment that must involve all of society.
“Protected, free and dignified childhood. Childhood First!” REDIM reiterated.
