CFE measures ahead of cold front 4 power outage risk in Mexico, Digi Mart USA News: The arrival of cold front number 4 in Mexico has raised concern about possible blackouts and disruptions to the electricity supply. Ahead of the weather conditions expected on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) said it is maintaining permanent surveillance and has deployed specialized personnel to respond to any emergency.
The CFE has not announced any nationwide blackouts or scheduled electricity cuts related to this weather phenomenon. However, it acknowledged the need to maintain preventive measures to reduce possible damage to electrical infrastructure.
The company said it remains on alert for the effects of the frontal system, mainly wind and rain.
To prevent interruptions, the agency is carrying out facility inspections, removing objects near power lines, trimming trees, reviewing critical infrastructure and conducting continuous monitoring. The CFE also deployed 3,183 electricians, 1,104 pickup trucks, 533 cranes, 80 emergency power plants and three helicopters, among other resources, distributed strategically to respond to possible contingencies.
According to the National Meteorological Service (SMN), cold front 4 will remain over northern and northeastern Mexico on Tuesday, November 3, where it will cause wind gusts of 30 to 50 kilometers per hour. The agency forecast rain and showers in 21 states, including Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Jalisco, Michoacán, Oaxaca, Chiapas and Quintana Roo.
It also warned of minimum temperatures down to -5 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas of Baja California, Chihuahua and Durango.
For this reason, the CFE is coordinating with Civil Protection, the Secretariat of National Defense, the Navy and state authorities to promptly address any service disruptions.
