Banorte third-quarter 2026 net profit: Grupo Financiero Banorte reported net profit of 15,658 million pesos, up 20% year over year and 1% from the prior quarter, supported by an 11% annual increase in its total loan portfolio to 1.33 trillion pesos.

Banorte third-quarter 2026 net profit, Digi Mart USA News: Grupo Financiero Banorte (GFNorte) closed the third quarter of 2026 with net profit of 15,658 million pesos, a 20% increase compared with the same period last year and 1% above the previous quarter.

The main driver behind the increase was lending. The group’s total loan portfolio grew 11% year over year to 1.33 trillion pesos.

Carlos Hank González, chairman of the board of directors of the group, said the strategy has combined physical expansion with digitalization. “We continue to expand our presence in Mexico with more branches and at the same time drive technological innovation to build banking that is increasingly close, accessible and able to respond to the needs of Mexican families,” he said, adding that customer confidence continues to support deposit gathering.

Internal diversification also contributed during the first nine months of the year. Commercial banking grew its net profit by 7%, while the most dynamic units were Afore, which rose 11%, and Pensiones, which climbed 31%.

Mexican households maintained demand for financing. The consumer segment reached 567,462 million pesos, an increase of 9%, with auto loans the strongest category at 23% growth.

Payroll loans and credit cards followed with double-digit growth of 11% and 10%, respectively, while mortgage lending rose a more moderate 6%.

On the corporate and government side, the public sector led with a 14% increase, followed by commercial loans (13%) and corporate loans (11%). Lending to small and medium-sized enterprises (PyMEs) rose 7%, which the report attributed to more refined origination filters that keep risk in check.
