Baja California raid on warehouse rented by Thomas Markle, Digi Mart USA News (Baja California, Mexico): Authorities in the Mexican state of Baja California carried out a search of a storage warehouse rented by Thomas Markle, father of the Duchess of Sussex, as part of an ongoing investigation into the possible storage of child sexual abuse images, the state prosecutor’s office confirmed Monday to the news agency AFP.
The police action in Mexican territory came days after authorities in the Philippines reported finding child abuse material at a former residence that Markle occupied in that Asian country. The former photography director, 82, lived in Mexico before moving to the Philippines in 2025 and is currently in the United States, where he firmly denies the accusations.
According to the Attorney General’s Office of Baja California, the investigation in Mexico began after an anonymous complaint alleging the presence of alleged “child pornography material” in the property rented by the retiree. Preliminary findings indicate that the property owner stated Markle stopped making rent payments in 2024; however, the space remained under guard.
During the inspection, authorities located “magazines of Asian origin” approximately two decades old, whose specific content was not detailed, and seized computer equipment, which is being sent to the federal prosecutor’s office for expert analysis.
Following the disclosure of the investigations in the Philippines, Markle rejected the allegations in an interview with the British newspaper Daily Mail, calling the reports “a bunch of lies.” Meanwhile, Meghan Markle said last Friday she was “deeply distressed” by the revelations about the investigations involving her father. The duchess has maintained total estrangement from her father since her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.
In an official statement, the duchess revealed that six years ago she learned of a letter sent to British police containing “troubling accusations” against Markle, arguing that the break in the relationship was aimed at “protecting” her two children. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their roles in the British royal family in 2020 to settle in the United States.
After a period away from the United Kingdom, the couple returned to the European country at the end of August.
