Paving of Calle México in La Rinconada Agustín Olachea, Digi Mart USA News (Baja California Sur, Mexico): With a state investment of 4.9 million pesos, the state government, through the Secretariat of Urban Planning, Infrastructure, Mobility, Environment and Natural Resources (SEPUIMM), will begin paving a stretch of Calle México with hydraulic concrete on Wednesday, November 4, in the La Rinconada Agustín Olachea Avilés neighborhood, as part of the Street Care Program.
Undersecretary of Infrastructure and Public Works Edgar de la Cruz Domínguez said the work will run between Monterrey and Campeche streets to address a long-standing demand from local families, who for years have had difficulty reaching their homes, mainly during the rainy season.
The comprehensive project includes renovating potable water and sanitary drainage networks to prevent leaks and improve service to households.
Sidewalks and curbs will also be built to improve pedestrian safety, solar-powered public lighting will be installed, and rainwater protection works will be carried out. Landscaping, street furniture and road signage will also be incorporated.
Ahead of the start of work, SEPUIMM urges residents of the neighborhood and motorists passing through the area to take precautions, respect preventive signage and use alternative routes.
De la Cruz Domínguez stressed that the current state administration remains committed to meeting the needs of Baja California Sur families through works that improve urban infrastructure and provide safer, more functional and more dignified roads.
