Alimentación para el Bienestar Edomex food basket program, Digi Mart USA News (State of Mexico, Mexico): The government of the State of Mexico has just launched a call for applications to support residents facing inequality who are seeking extra assistance with basic expenses. The initiative, called Alimentación para el Bienestar, provides food baskets and complementary services.
The main benefit of the program is free food supplies for people who meet the criteria set by the State of Mexico’s Secretariat of Welfare. The program is aimed mainly at women between 50 and 64 years old who live in any of the state’s 125 municipalities and face poverty, extreme poverty, or a lack of access to nutritious, quality food.
Meeting the selection criteria set out in the operating rules is required to apply. However, the publication notes that meeting the conditions does not automatically guarantee inclusion in the official roster, as acceptance depends on the official procedure and the availability of resources.
The initiative also includes an emergency assistance component for people living in the State of Mexico who are experiencing emergency situations. The aid consists of a food basket with basic products to help feed beneficiaries and their families.
Items that may be included in the package are rice, beans, lentils, oats, milk, tuna, flour, soup pasta, and cooking oil. Personal hygiene and household cleaning products, such as toilet paper, detergent, and bleach, may also be included.
According to the program’s operating rules, beneficiaries may receive one and up to six food baskets during the year, depending on budget availability and the authorized delivery schedule.
In addition to the food supplies, the scheme includes comprehensive welfare services such as nutritional guidance, general medical care, and psychological, legal, and social work counseling, among others.
Women interested in joining the program must meet the eligibility criteria and submit the documentation requested by state authorities. To complete registration, applicants must prepare the required documents.
Originals and copies should be brought when indicated by the call for applications or the corresponding service center.
Registration depends on calls for applications published by the State of Mexico’s Secretariat of Welfare. When a new registration stage opens, applicants should check the dates, complete the indicated procedure, and, if selected, submit the corresponding documentation.
Official information can be consulted on the portal of the State of Mexico’s Secretariat of Welfare and its institutional channels. Applicants should also review notices about the publication of folios, service centers, and results.
The program is free of charge: applicants should not pay managers or intermediaries who promise to guarantee inclusion in the roster. Before starting any procedure, applicants are advised to verify that the call for applications is current and that the requirements correspond to the registration period.
