GNP México Major Premier Pádel 2026 in Acapulco, Digi Mart USA News (Acapulco, Mexico): The tournament is expected to generate an economic impact of more than 250 million pesos and draw an estimated 35,000 attendees during a week of sporting activities that will also help promote the destination internationally.
The third edition of the competition will take place from November 23 to 29 at Arena GNP Seguros, where the 100 best padel players in the world will compete in both the women’s and men’s divisions.
During the tournament presentation, Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, said sporting events offer a way to diversify tourism activity, attract visitors in different seasons and create experiences that involve entire families. She said Acapulco has found in sports and entertainment tourism a path to maintain its momentum and continue its recovery.
Rodríguez Zamora said the event’s reach will extend beyond the sports facilities, with broadcasts expected to reach 281 territories, a potential audience of more than 100 million viewers, and availability on platforms in more than 175 countries. She recalled that Acapulco holds a special place in the history of the sport, noting that in 1969 Enrique Corcuera built the first padel court in the port city.
Jorge Mañe Rendón, president of the Mexican Padel Federation and general director of Premier Pádel México, said the GNP México Major is one of the four most important events on the global circuit in terms of scale, level of competition, prizes and player participation. He said Mexico is the only host in the Americas for one of these four competitions.
Rosa Guadalupe Pavón Flores, Guerrero’s Secretary of Tourism, said hosting events of this scale allows the state to showcase its natural, cultural and gastronomic attractions to domestic and foreign visitors. She thanked the federal Secretariat of Tourism for supporting such initiatives and invited fans and tourists to visit Acapulco.
With this third edition, the GNP México Major Premier Pádel aims to consolidate the port as a host for international competitions and use the sport’s drawing power to generate visitors, economic activity and tourism promotion beyond the vacation seasons.
