Tracs organ donation ambassador Sisteron urban trail, Digi Mart USA News (Sisteron, France): The Trail running athlétique club sisteronais (Tracs) celebrated life and remembrance on Friday, October 30, in the evening during the 3rd “Shur” held through the streets of the town, with 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer routes.
During the event, the club signed an agreement with France Adot 05, the reference association for organ donation awareness in the Hautes-Alpes. The club, presided over by Gaël Gueugnon and Esther Coulaud, counts among its members para-triathlete Adeline Billal of Jarlan, who received a liver transplant nearly ten years ago.
Tracs is now an ambassador association for organ donation.
Last summer, the Sisteron hospital joined the ambassadors, a commitment now marked by a plaque at the entrance of the facility. The city’s elected officials present on the podium also said the town had submitted an application to become an ambassador city.
Manosque was the first city in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence to become an organ donation ambassador, in 2024. According to France Adot 05 president René Vallarino, 20,000 people in France are currently waiting for a transplant, some of them in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Hautes-Alpes.
There is currently no reference association in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, which is why France Adot 05 attended the event in Sisteron. Vallarino said an association in the 04 department could soon be created and should be present at the 4th edition of the Shur next year.
