PSG 6-0 Villarreal Champions League, Digi Mart USA News: Paris Saint-Germain produced a dominant performance in a 6-0 win over Villarreal on Tuesday, November 3, in the fourth matchday of the league phase. The French club, the reigning double-holder, had little to prove in the match, which was less anticipated than its recent games against Manchester City and Barcelona.

Paris took control early at a venue it had never played at before. Joao Neves opened the scoring in the 9th minute from a corner that Willian Pacho helped on.

Desire Doue made it 2-0 three minutes later after goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi misplayed a pass, and Senny Mayulu scored the third goal in the 13th minute.

Fabian Ruiz added a powerful left-footed strike from outside the box in the 17th minute to make it 4-0. The four goals came in 16 minutes, a Champions League record for the fastest team to score four goals in the competition, according to Opta.

Villarreal made a change at halftime, replacing winger Nicolas Pepe with defender Sergi Cardona in an attempt to limit the damage. Paris continued to press, and Ruiz scored again in the 50th minute after being played in behind the defense, completing a brace.

Teenager David Boly, aged 17, scored the sixth goal in the 78th minute from a deflected shot, his first goal in the competition. The match was played without Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Marquinhos and Nuno Mendes, all injured.

With the win, Paris moved to 12 points after four of eight matchdays and remains top of the league phase. It has already secured at least a place in the knockout play-offs.

Its next Champions League match is a home game against AS Roma at the Parc des Princes on November 25.

The other French club in European competition, Lille, earned its first point of the campaign with a 0-0 draw at Bodo/Glimt in Norway, after three defeats in its first three matches.
