Paris transit strike November 5 RER D disruption, Digi Mart USA News (Île-de-France, France): On Thursday, November 5, all unions, along with high school and university student movements, called a day of strike and mobilization. Public transport in the Paris region is disrupted.
The SNCF has published its traffic forecasts, and as expected, many lines are not running normally. Only RER A and the Transilien K and V lines will be unaffected.
The most disrupted line is RER D, where only one train in three is running.
On the RER B north of Paris-Nord, the RER C, and Transilien lines H, N, R and U, 50% of trains are running. Traffic on the RER B south of Paris-Nord, the RER E, Transilien lines J and L, and line P between Meaux and La Ferté-Milon is also disrupted, with two trains in three running.
The RATP had planned for “normal” traffic with no disruption on its metro, bus and tram lines. However, several metro stations will be closed to service on certain lines from 11 a.m., at the request of the Paris police prefecture.
These include Argentine, Assemblée nationale, Champs-Élysées-Clemenceau, Charles de Gaulle-Étoile, Charonne, Cluny-La Sorbonne, Concorde, Franklin D. Roosevelt, George V, Invalides, Mabillon and Madeleine.
Stops will also not be served at Maubert-Mutualité, Miromesnil, Oberkampf, Odéon, Richard-Lenoir, Rue des Boulets, Rue du Bac, Saint-Ambroise, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Sèvres-Babylone, Solférino and Tuileries, and Voltaire. In total, 25 metro stations are affected.
Transilien SNCF Voyageurs and Île-de-France Mobilités invite travelers, where possible, to postpone their trips and prioritize remote work. IDFM announced this on Tuesday, November 3, and repeated its recommendations on the eve of the strike.
