He was set to make his 16th appearance for the XV de France, the first match of the second phase of the Championship of Nations.

According to Midi Olympique, the 23-year-old Rochelais was injured in training and will be among the 14 players sent home from the squad. Jegou, who played two of the three Championship of Nations matches this summer in the Southern Hemisphere, was expected to serve as a finisher, able to play both flanker and centre.

Fabien Galthié faces another setback as injuries continue to mount this autumn. Midi Olympique reports that Bayonne flanker Esteban Capilla is expected to start on the bench in place of Jegou, which would be his first cap for the XV de France.

Cameron Woki, François Cros and Pierre Boudehent are very likely to start in the back row. The team lineup will be announced Thursday at 10:00 by the coach.
