The story begins in French Polynesia, where members of the association Protégeons notre Fenua oppose experimental undersea drilling. While sailing the area aboard a sailboat, an undersea tremor precedes the appearance of a mysterious mist.
The nine passengers wake up on a beach with no memory of the shipwreck. They find food and shelter, but their situation changes when one of the shipwrecked women disappears and is later found murdered.
Beyond the challenges of survival, nighttime phenomena linked to each character’s past add to the tension. Some fear the wrath of the gods, while fear, guilt and rivalries test their solidarity.
The series features Capucine Malarre as Lisa Chevalet, alongside Roberto Calvet, Tahitoe Murat, Justine Tekuataoa, Manake’i Kahiha, Tepa Teuru, Kahuetahi Kaiha and Tuarii Tracqui.
Directed by David Hourrègue, who previously worked on the Breton fantasy series Anaon and the adaptation of Marie Vareille’s novel Désenchantées, the series was shot in Tahiti. The writing team includes Manutea Garcia, Toarii Pouira and Franck Philippon, who is also showrunner.
Production is led by Nolita and Quintessence Fictions for France Télévisions’ overseas unit, with Filmin’ Tahiti as executive producer.
