Marcel Siem withdrawal from DP World Tour Q School Final Stage due to back injury, Digi Mart USA News (Golf Planète report): Former Open de France winner Marcel Siem will not regain his DP World Tour card this season after withdrawing from the Final Stage of the Q School, citing a back injury he has battled for more than a year.

The German golfer, 46, announced his withdrawal on Wednesday on Instagram, describing it as one of the most difficult decisions of his career. He said his back problems began at the 2025 Irish Open and that he has not completed a single tournament without pain since.

Siem, who turned professional in 1998, has played 594 tournaments on the circuit and has six wins, the most recent at the 2024 Italian Open, where he beat Tom McKibbin in a playoff. He also won the 2012 Open de France and the 2011 Vaudreuil Golf Challenge.

His form declined in the 2026 season. He made the cut in only 12 of 26 events and recorded no top-10 finish, ending the season 137th on the Order of Merit.

In 2025 he had three top-10 finishes and narrowly finished inside the top 100 of the Race to Dubai.

Siem said his priority now is rest, treatment and proper rehabilitation, and his doctors have been reassuring. Despite the setback, he expressed optimism about returning to competition, saying he is highly motivated and believes he still has good golf to offer.
