2026 World Team Table Tennis Mixed Cup French squad, Digi Mart USA News (Chengdu, China): The Mixed Team World Cup returns to Chengdu, China, from November 29 to December 6, 2026, according to the French Table Tennis Federation (FFTT). The French team is returning to compete against the world’s top nations in a demanding format that serves as preparation for the new mixed team event at the Los Angeles Olympic Games.
The French Table Tennis Federation has announced its official squad, with rankings as of November 5, 2026. The women’s selection includes Jianan Yuan (world No. 35), Prithika Pavade (world No. 37), Charlotte Lutz (world No. 66) and Nina Guo Zheng (world No. 169).
The men’s selection includes Félix Lebrun (world No. 2), Alexis Lebrun (world No. 9), Flavien Coton (world No. 23) and Simon Gauzy (world No. 33).
Jean-René Mounié, the federation’s Director of High Performance, said the event’s format has changed this year. Teams will play in a 3+3 format, matching the Olympic system, rather than the previous 2+2 format, which makes the group’s depth more important.
He said Jianan Yuan would bring experience, Prithika Pavade is in a strong period, Charlotte Lutz can contribute in doubles, and Nina Guo Zheng, a three-time European under-19 champion, shows unusual potential.
Mounié described the men’s team as dominant in Europe and highly competitive globally, and said the women’s team is competitive in Europe but still has a significant gap to the world’s best. He said the strength of the group will be a key factor in the squad’s success.
The competition features 20 teams divided into two groups of ten, including continental winners, a wild-card invitee and the highest-ranked nations. The format includes 106 matches across group play and placement matches, with each team facing every other team in its group.
Matches follow a sequence of mixed doubles, women’s singles, men’s singles, and then women’s and men’s doubles if needed, with each match played as best-of-five games where the first team to eight games wins.
The event will be held at the Sichuan Gymnasium in Chengdu. The federation noted that a seven-hour time difference with France means the French team’s matches will take place at unusual hours for viewers in France.
