Philadelphia Union Toronto FC Decision Day finale, Digi Mart USA News: Decision Day is almost here. The Philadelphia Union will host their final match of the regular season on Saturday, November 7, facing Toronto FC at Subaru Park at 4 p.m.

MLS Decision Day is the last matchday of the regular season, deciding postseason positioning for every team across the league. This year’s finale will significantly affect Philadelphia’s seeding and its opponent in the playoffs.

The Union currently sit in sixth place with 47 points. A win against Toronto would keep them in that spot, with a finish of 50 points for the regular season.

With a draw, the Union would secure a top-seven finish and avoid the Wild Card match between the eighth and ninth seeds. A Union loss, combined with wins by both Cincinnati and Columbus, would force Philadelphia into that match.

If the Union finish seventh or higher, their 2026 campaign will continue with Round One of the postseason following the November FIFA international break. The playoffs begin with a best-of-three first-round series.

Home-field advantage for the first and, if needed, third game goes to the higher-seeded team.

“Now that this last game of the regular season is really meaningful for us, it gives us that extra little bump of what we’re pushing for exactly,” interim Head Coach Ryan Richter said at his Thursday afternoon press conference.

“Some stuff is out of our control as far as how the opponent goes after that. But what is in our control is taking care of business, winning the game, finishing in sixth place, and then we can assess where we’re at after that and see what the opponent looks like.”

After a historic 15-match unbeaten streak, the Union went winless in four straight games, an unfavorable end to their October schedule. The team picked up its first loss under Richter’s leadership against the New England Revolution.

Three days later, the team earned a midweek point on the road against Supporters’ Shield champions Nashville SC, but left Cincinnati empty-handed on Saturday with a Halloween loss.

There is not much on the line for Toronto FC, which has already been eliminated from playoff contention. The Canadian side is tied on points with both the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC, sitting just below the playoff line.

Orlando City clinched the final spot, sitting ninth with 43 points. While all Eastern Conference spots have been secured, several teams are within three points of each other in the standings, leaving room for movement.

The Union’s final stretch of games has been marked by injuries and suspensions, but according to Richter, all but two players are fully fit and available for Decision Day.

Milan Iloski and Japhet Sery Larsen remain on the injury report. Iloski is the team’s leading goalscorer and sits atop the league’s Golden Boot race with 19 goals before his injury.

Richter said the team’s No. 10 is still questionable but that it is “pretty unlikely” he will be ready to play Saturday afternoon.

As for Sery Larsen, Richter noted that the Danish defender is still experiencing concussion symptoms.
