2027 MLS Sprint Season, Digi Mart USA News: Major League Soccer has unveiled the schedule for the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, which will launch the league’s switch to a summer-to-spring calendar beginning in July 2027, aligning with the world’s top soccer leagues.
Before the calendar change, every team will play 14 regular-season games during the 2027 Sprint Season. All matches will be against in-conference opponents, including seven home matches and seven away matches for each club.
The regular season will run from February 19 to May 8. The schedule opens on Friday, February 19, when Inter Miami CF hosts FC Cincinnati at Nu Stadium at 8 p.m.
ET on Apple TV, followed by 13 additional matches across Saturday and Sunday.
The regular season concludes with Decision Day on May 8, which includes a Hudson River Derby between New York City FC and Red Bull New York at 5 p.m. ET on Apple TV.
The Decision Day slate features Eastern Conference matches at 5 p.m. ET and Western Conference matches at 8 p.m.
ET, which will determine who qualifies for the Audi 2027 MLS Cup Playoffs.
The top eight teams in each conference will qualify for the Audi 2027 MLS Cup Playoffs. The postseason will use a single-elimination bracket format to determine a conference champion, and the Eastern and Western Conference champions will meet in 2027 MLS Cup presented by Audi on Memorial Day Weekend.
The complete postseason schedule will be announced at a later date.
Because the season features an exclusively intra-conference schedule and two 15-team conferences, two clubs will have a bye every matchday. In addition to crowning an MLS Cup champion, the 2027 MLS Sprint Season will determine qualification for the 2028 Concacaf Champions Cup and Leagues Cup 2028.
Walmart Saturday Showdown and Sunday Night Soccer presented by Continental Tire will return for the 2027 Sprint Season, offering marquee matchday games with enhanced production and expanded pre- and post-game coverage. The full schedules for those broadcasts will be announced at a later date.
Apple TV will broadcast every MLS match, complemented by studio programming and on-demand content. Fans can watch every regular-season match with an Apple TV subscription, which will also be included as part of full-season ticket packages with MLS clubs.
