PSG interest in Dayot Upamecano, Digi Mart USA News: Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly intensively exploring a move for Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano, according to Foot Mercato, as reported by SPOX.
The French defender extended his contract with the German record champions until 2030 back in February. According to the report, the new contract reportedly contains an exit clause set at 65 million euros, payable next summer, a sum PSG could reportedly afford without major difficulty.
The existence of the clause has not been officially confirmed.
PSG is reportedly looking for a long-term successor to captain Marquinhos, who has spent 13 years at the club and is under contract until 2028. The Parisians are expected to seek a high-quality replacement next summer or after the 2027/28 season at the latest, and Upamecano, four years younger, is reportedly among their options.
The 28-year-old Bayern defender drew attention again this week in a 2-0 away win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, where he kept Julian Alvarez largely out of the game. He is now the leading center-back at Bayern, rotating alongside Jonathan Tah and Min-jae Kim.
Upamecano joined Bayern in 2021 for 42.5 million euros and has scored three goals in twelve competitive appearances across all competitions this season.
