Alexandra Palace Fireworks & Drone Festival traffic and parking measures, Digi Mart USA News (Haringey, London, United Kingdom): Haringey Council has announced a series of traffic and parking measures ahead of the Alexandra Palace Fireworks & Drone Festival, which will run over two days. The measures are intended to keep visitors safe and minimise disruption to local residents and businesses.
Alexandra Palace Way will be affected from 2pm on Friday 6 November until 3pm on Monday 9 November. Bedford Road will be closed from 2pm to midnight on both Saturday 7 November and Sunday 8 November.
Following the main display on both days, Buckingham Road will be closed for around an hour from its junction with Palace Gates Road and Park Avenue to allow visitors to leave safely. During these periods, access to and from the surrounding roads cannot be guaranteed, except for emergencies.
An on-site traffic team will be available to provide emergency access or exit to residents of these roads if required.
All parking on Bedford Road will be suspended from 9am to midnight on Saturday 7 November and Sunday 8 November. Residents of certain nearby roads will be sent a permit providing access between 2pm and 11pm on both days.
The entrances to the park from Park Avenue North and North View Road will be closed from 2pm on Friday 6 November until 3pm on Monday 9 November. There will be no access to the event via Springfield Road.
Parking suspensions will also be in place at key points on other roads, and drivers are asked to check road signs for timings and dates. Further details are available from Transport for London.
The event organisers say they will keep noise levels to a minimum where possible. Independent sound monitoring will take place at key points throughout the park, and a soundcheck is scheduled between 6pm and 7pm on Friday 6 November.
Residents who wish to report a noise problem or other issue during the event can contact Alexandra Palace at 020 8365 4343 or visitor.services@alexandrapalace.com.
The source also notes that Alexandra Palace, a charity, relies on events such as the festival to help fund maintenance of the park and palace, and that the council appreciates residents’ cooperation and patience. Separately, Haringey libraries will host Remembrance Day (Wednesday 11 November) commemorative activities for young children and their families next week.
