Karim Adeyemi DFB squad omission, Digi Mart USA News: The omission of Karim Adeyemi (24) from the current DFB squad is generating discussion. TV expert Marcel Reif (76) said on “Reif ist live” that he was surprised Jürgen Klopp (59) chose to do without the attacker.

On Thursday, the federal coach announced his squad for the upcoming Nations League matches. Germany face Serbia in Belgrade on November 13, followed by a clash with the Netherlands in Berlin on November 16.

Adeyemi, who was still in Klopp’s 44-man DFB squad recently, will miss both matches.

Reif said the decision came as a surprise, particularly given Adeyemi’s recent development at FC Barcelona. “That surprised me a bit.

Because I think, the way he is developing right now at Barcelona, and we honestly didn’t all expect that. Or at least I didn’t,” Reif said on the show.

Reif said he had not expected Adeyemi to settle in so quickly at a club of Barcelona’s stature. “I didn’t think he would find his footing there so quickly, and that’s Barcelona.

You can’t just sit in the dressing room for a while; when you get there and Flick wanted him, there must have been reasons for that.”

For that reason, Reif said he had expected Adeyemi to be called up. He suggested Adeyemi could have been an option on the wing, on either flank.

“I could have imagined him on the right side, that would have been conceivable. And on the left,” the TV expert explained.

The most notable selection is that of Bremen striker Niclas Füllkrug, whom Klopp has named to the squad. This is Klopp’s squad for his second international window as national coach.

Despite the current omission, Reif does not believe the door is permanently closed for Adeyemi with the DFB. Asked whether this need not be Klopp’s last squad, he agreed.

“That’s right. I think Adeyemi is on his list,” Reif said.

World Cup winner Roman Weidenfeller (46) offered a possible explanation. On the Sky show “Triple – Der Hagedorn-Fußballtalk,” the former Dortmund goalkeeper discussed Adeyemi’s first international matches under Klopp: “Of course you always have all the freedom going forward with Jürgen, but you always have to engage the reverse gear.” He added: “I think those are the small things that bother Jürgen afterward, where it may possibly be that he was not invited for that reason.

Perhaps as a small reminder.”
