DWP Youth Hub opening in Luton, Digi Mart USA News (Luton, England): The Department for Work and Pensions has confirmed the opening of a new Youth Hub in Luton, which will be open Monday to Friday. The department described the opening as a “major boost” for people with mental health issues.
The Hub will offer CV advice, skills training, mental health support, housing advice and careers guidance under one roof. Youth Hubs are locations that bring together Jobcentre Plus, local authority services, employers and training providers to help young people aged 16 to 24 get back on track.
The Luton Youth Hub will be based at Arndale House, 37 The Mall, Luton LU1 2LJ. The DWP said Youth Hubs will open in every local area in Great Britain, with almost a million young people not in education, employment or training.
The opening is part of a government investment of £2.5 billion to ensure all young people have the opportunity to earn or learn. Work and Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden said the hub “marks a major step forward for young people in Luton, delivering real support and opportunity right here in the community.”
McFadden said every Youth Hub will meet a set of minimum standards. These include on-site jobcentre support, mental health and housing support, skills and training opportunities, careers guidance and direct connections to employers with live job and apprenticeship opportunities.
