Will the Trail Blazers Finish Ahead of the Lakers This Season?

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Los Angeles Lakers 2026-27 season record: Portland meets Los Angeles again tonight after winning their first meeting 136-129 on October 27. The Blazers lead 6-1 and the Lakers 7-2, prompting a debate over which team will win more regular-season games this year.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Los Angeles Lakers 2026-27 season record, Digi Mart USA News: The Portland Trail Blazers will take on the Los Angeles Lakers tonight for the second time this season. The Blazers already beat the Lakers once, a 136-129 victory on October 27.

If Portland wins again, it will have taken both road games in the series before the season is a month old. That raises a question that remains speculative: will the Blazers finish with a better overall record than the Lakers?

The Lakers have Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, one of the few backcourt duos that could claim to rank higher in the NBA than Portland’s duo of Damian Lillard and Ja Morant. The rest of the Lakers roster is not spectacular, though center Walker Kessler probably leads the parade.

Los Angeles, however, has the will and ability to acquire players like few other franchises. The cupboard can be bare one day and full of former MVPs and GOATs the next, and the franchise has shown this before.

Portland currently stands at 6-1 and Los Angeles at 7-2. The question is not whether those teams will stay at the top of the standings or slip, but simply which team will earn more regular-season wins this year.
