Pascale de La Tour du Pin defends Sonia Mabrouk, Digi Mart USA News (France): Sonia Mabrouk is going through a difficult period. A former CNews journalist, she joined the BFM-RMC group on BFMTV last August.
Since then, she has regularly been the target of various unions within the group through several statements.
Appearing as a guest on the weekly program “Puremédias l’hebdo” on T18 on Sunday, Pascale de La Tour du Pin, presenter of BFMTV’s morning news show, came to her colleague’s defense. “Internally and externally, I think Sonia Mabrouk is experiencing a destabilization campaign that I will describe, forgive me, as disgusting,” she said bluntly in an excerpt released in advance on social media.
The morning presenter continued: “People are trying to destabilize Sonia Mabrouk. I think she is a very good journalist.
It has been a month and a half since she arrived.” While BFMTV reporters have regularly been confronted and jostled during demonstrations in recent weeks, some members of the newsroom reportedly believe Sonia Mabrouk and her studio programming bear part of the responsibility. Pascale de La Tour du Pin completely rejects this view.
According to the presenter, several discussions have already taken place within the BFMTV newsroom. “There is no opposition between Sonia Mabrouk and the newsroom.
I think there is an exchange. No, frankly, I am living it from the inside.
There was a meeting on Monday during which she spoke, Sonia. There was an exchange with the reporters.”
“It is very good that we talk if there is discomfort. The reporters were mainly talking about the problem of being confronted in the field.
That is the problem today. That is the issue.
Now, there is no problem with Sonia Mabrouk. Do you see what I mean?
That is why I am telling you, I think she is a victim of a destabilization campaign and it must stop,” she concluded.
Pascale de La Tour du Pin is not the only BFMTV figure to show support. Christophe Delay, Alain Marschall, Olivier Truchot and Julien Arnaud reportedly expressed their solidarity this week at the end of her program, which airs from 7 to 9 p.m.
