Raptors Look to Claim First NBA Cup Win Against Struggling Bucks

Toronto Raptors vs. Milwaukee Bucks NBA Cup matchup: The Raptors seek their first win in the competition as they face a Bucks team on a four-game losing streak, with both sides dealing with early-season struggles including slow starts, rebounding issues and late-game execution.

Toronto Raptors vs. Milwaukee Bucks NBA Cup matchup, Digi Mart USA News: The Toronto Raptors are looking to secure their first win in the Emirates NBA Cup this season when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday, November 6. Toronto is currently 0-1 in the competition after a 128-109 loss to the Denver Nuggets.

The Raptors have struggled to find form, losing three of their last four games, and currently sit at 4-4. Their issues have centered on slow starts, an inability to finish games, perimeter defense and vulnerability in the frontcourt and on the boards.

While Toronto is strong on the offensive glass, its undersized or banged-up frontline has had trouble containing dominant opposing centers.

The absence of Kawhi Leonard has added pressure on Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett to carry the load. Without a true center, the Raptors have struggled, and the source notes that the team should consider a trade for a well-regarded center to address that need.

The Bucks are at 1-7 and are on a four-game losing streak. Milwaukee is fielding a younger squad in a transitional period without Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The reshaped roster includes players acquired in recent moves, such as Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Kel’el Ware from Miami, alongside veterans like Myles Turner.

Coach Doc Rivers, with assistant Darvin Ham, is working to install a new system.

Execution and youth consistency have also been issues for Milwaukee. The young rotation, including rookie Brayden Burries and Ryan Rollins, has struggled with late-game execution, shooting efficiency and closing out tight contests.

The key to the matchup is the battle for possession. Toronto’s offensive rebounding and low turnover rate are expected to test a Milwaukee defense ranked 27th in the league.

To stay competitive, the Bucks will need Turner and Ware to control the glass and limit Barnes and Barrett in the paint, while forcing Toronto into a perimeter shooting contest where the Raptors currently hit just 31.9 percent from three-point range.

Milwaukee’s Herro and AJ Green will need to capitalize on efficient three-point looks to offset Toronto’s downhill physicality and slow the Raptors’ high-volume possession game. The Bucks view this as a chance to win their second game of the year against a Toronto side that has struggled recently.

For the Raptors, the game is an opportunity to get back on track and avoid falling under .500 for the first time this season.
