Raúl Curiel undefeated boxer Tamaulipas world title goal, Digi Mart USA News (Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico): Professional boxer Raúl “Cúgar” Curiel, currently the world’s number one contender according to the World Boxing Association, is at a decisive stage of his sporting career. During a visit to Tampico, the athlete said his main objective for the coming year is to consolidate his career by competing for a world championship.
Curiel said he is supported by a high-level team that includes Frank Espinosa and Robert García. Beyond his performance in the ring, he emphasized the importance of giving back to society through youth training activities, including boxing clinics and motivational talks at sports facilities.
“I feel very happy to be able to contribute to my community and be an example here in the area, so that people make an effort and see that things can be done,” Curiel said. He recalled his beginnings in Madero and his training at local sports facilities, saying his roots drive his career.
Curiel said he and the sports department plan to visit local sports facilities to hold brief talks and boxing clinics for young people who want to leave the streets and represent Mexico in competition. He views sport as a key tool for steering young people away from street life.
Regarding his professional future, Curiel said he is patient and strategic, trusting his team to secure a title opportunity or a high-profile fight. The boxer, who holds an undefeated record, stressed that professional boxing requires both physical preparation and smart management outside the ring.
“We are waiting for an offer, either for a world championship or a fight with a big name that will position us even higher, thank God I am currently the number one contender in the world,” he said. Curiel added that his priority is to maintain the discipline and sacrifice that have defined his career, concluding that “in boxing and in sport there are no excuses, no tricks; whoever trains wins, and whoever does not train does not win.”
