Keylor Navas future at Pumas, Digi Mart USA News: The future of Keylor Navas at Pumas has drawn attention again after a report linked it to a possible return of Arturo Elías Ayub, a well-known figure at Ciudad Universitaria. According to the report, Elías Ayub would lead another stage at the club and seek to keep the Costa Rican goalkeeper, whose contract runs through the summer of 2027.

Sports Illustrated México reported that Elías Ayub was being considered to head another university stage and wanted to retain the goalkeeper. However, when asked by that outlet, the businessman described the reports of his return as false.

The report says the two coincided during activities linked to the Mexican Grand Prix and that, according to its sources, they discussed extending the goalkeeper’s stay. That has not been publicly confirmed as a negotiation.

No renewal has been announced in the cited information, but there is no confirmed departure either. The expiration date raises questions about what happens next, but on its own it does not show that the goalkeeper is close to leaving Pumas.

The distinction matters for fans: remaining contract time is one thing, and an agreement to extend it is another. The reported plan attributed to Elías Ayub remains a journalistic report.

Elías Ayub presided over the club between 2001 and 2005, a period that included the back-to-back championships of 2004. That history helps explain why his name draws interest when discussing a new chapter for the institution, but it does not confirm a current role.

Likewise, the possibility that someone seeks to retain Navas does not mean the player has agreed to renew. Any extension would require an agreement between the goalkeeper and Pumas, regardless of who leads the management.

For now, the central point is the Costa Rican’s continuity beyond 2027. The report places Elías Ayub around that future, while his denial means any reported return should be treated as conditional.
