Bushido learns of older half-sister after more than 30 years, Digi Mart USA News: German rapper Bushido, 48, had long wished for a sister without knowing that he actually had one. For more than three decades he was unaware that he had an older half-sister, according to a report by the German newspaper Bild.

His mother, Luise Maria Engel, who died in 2013 from complications of breast cancer, kept the existence of her daughter secret from her son throughout her life. Instead, she confided in her daughter-in-law, Anna-Maria Ferchichi, 44, placing her in a very difficult position.

“I knew something that Anis did not know, and I felt bad about it,” said Ferchichi. She recalled a moment early in their relationship when Bushido, lying in her arms, said he had always wished for a sister.

“That broke my heart,” she said. She told her mother-in-law to settle the matter once her health improved.

That conversation never happened. Luise Maria Engel’s condition deteriorated dramatically in 2013 and she fell into a coma.

Ferchichi said she then decided she could no longer stay silent and told her husband: “We have to tell someone. You have an older sister!” She described his reaction as shocking: “He almost fainted.

It was a really terrible situation.”

The half-sister, who is four years older than Bushido, grew up with her father in Würzburg, the same city from which Bushido’s German family originates. Bushido had once met her in person without knowing who she was, at his grandfather’s funeral.

“My sister knew who I was. I didn’t know,” Bushido said.

“My mother had never told me that she existed. I have no idea why she kept it to herself.”

After the revelation, Bushido called his half-sister. She visited the family, further meetings followed, and they spent Christmas together.

The encounters were also painful for him. Ferchichi recalled: “His mother had just died.

Then someone suddenly sits there who gestures the same way and has the same facial expressions. That was very difficult for Anis.”

Despite these early meetings, the close sibling relationship Bushido had long longed for did not develop. More than three decades of shared life were missing, and they could not simply be made up.

“Just because someone is related to you doesn’t suddenly click, and you don’t have the same feelings you would have if you had grown up your whole life with this person,” the rapper said.

Bushido said contact with his half-sister has since faded. “I have come to terms with it,” he said.

He added that with his own children he now places great emphasis on providing what he lacked in childhood: family cohesion. “It is very important to me to make our children understand how important community is,” said the 48-year-old.

“You sometimes get on each other’s nerves or argue, and that’s completely fine. But you stick together and love each other.

That is what matters.”
