Karine Ferri dog Dolmen cancer diagnosis, Digi Mart USA News: French television host Karine Ferri has revealed that her labrador, Dolmen, is suffering from an aggressive cancer. Despite an initial prognosis of only a few weeks, the dog is still by her side.

The situation recalls what Ferri said in 2020 about her fear of losing her pets.

In October 2020, the wife of former footballer Yoann Gourcuff spoke tenderly about Dolmen. The labrador was eight years old at the time, and Ferri already dreaded the day she would have to say goodbye to her.

Six years later, that concern has become reality. On Monday, November 2, Ferri announced on Instagram that Dolmen has hemangiosarcoma, an aggressive cancer diagnosed in the spleen in May.

“When Dolmen’s diagnosis came in, we were told she had only one to two months to live,” she said.

In an interview with Wamiz on October 12, 2020, Ferri described Dolmen as a particularly gentle and affectionate dog. She also spoke about her attachment to her animals, which she considered full members of her family.

“They give us so much love that it is hard to imagine a life without them one day!” she said at the time.

Ferri had already stressed the responsibilities that come with adopting animals, particularly when they age and begin to face health problems.

Dolmen has shared her life for nearly fourteen years. Her name, like that of the cat Menhir, was chosen in reference to Brittany, where Ferri lives with her family.

In 2022, Ferri told Le Parisien that she considered her two labradors, Dolmen and Bella, as her daughters.

Since the diagnosis, Dolmen has undergone surgery followed by several months of chemotherapy.

Ferri chose to share her dog’s medical journey to alert pet owners to the symptoms of the disease, including unusual fatigue, loss of appetite and sudden weakness.

For her family, every week spent with Dolmen now matters. Although veterinarians initially gave her one to two months to live, the dog has already surpassed that prognosis.

“Five months of happiness, cuddles and shared moments. Five months that are priceless,” Ferri said.
