Millie Bobby Brown and Ross Duffer Conformity Gate social media posts: Stranger Things stars and creator Ross Duffer have shared cryptic posts that have fans reigniting the viral conspiracy theory that the series finale was a fake-out, though the posts more likely point to the upcoming Broadway prequel The First Shadow.

Millie Bobby Brown and Ross Duffer Conformity Gate social media posts, Digi Mart USA News: Netflix’s Stranger Things came to an end nearly a year ago, with the series finale releasing on Netflix and in select theaters on New Year’s Eve. However, the show has never really been forgotten by its core fanbase, especially because of the widespread belief that the final episode was actually a fake-out and a real finale is still coming.

The conspiracy theory went viral and became known as Conformity Gate.

Conformity Gate gained so much traction that the creators and stars of the show have commented on it, mostly to say that it is nonsense. While it seemed to have been permanently put to rest, the theory has returned, this time because star Millie Bobby Brown, who played Jane Hopper/Eleven, and one half of the Duffer Brothers, Ross Duffer, have each posted on social media in ways that hint something is coming.

The first post that caught fans’ attention was from Duffer, who posted a meme of someone saying “I know what’s coming on Stranger Things Day” and another person responding, “No, you don’t.” He shared it to his Instagram story. The post comes after a period of low activity from the series creator; his last post was for the show’s 10-year anniversary this past July.

The reference to Stranger Things Day is also notable, as that day falls tomorrow, November 6.

In addition, Brown shared a video to her Instagram showing her mouthing along to an audio in which someone says they are up in the mountains and need to be rescued. The caption of her post reads, “If lost, please return to set.” Some fans believe the combination of the audio and text references Eleven’s fate in the finale.

It still seems very unlikely that anything new is coming in the form of a new Stranger Things episode. Duffer’s post in particular is more likely a reference to the Stranger Things Broadway prequel play The First Shadow, which some suspect will arrive on Netflix sometime this year.

It is possible that it will be a surprise release tomorrow for Stranger Things Day. Brown’s post may very well be something entirely separate.
