France vs Fiji Championship of Nations rugby match, Digi Mart USA News: The Championship of Nations returns this early November, and Fabien Galthié’s Les Bleus have four matches on the schedule, starting with Fiji on Saturday.
Although the autumn tour is no longer called that, the idea remains the same. The French national team launches a series of three matches against southern hemisphere nations in the new competition, which brings together the leading teams of international rugby, ahead of a potential final at the end of the month in London.
After a narrow defeat in New Zealand (34-32) and two wins in Australia (42-26) and Japan (42-15), Galthié’s team will face Fiji, South Africa and Argentina in turn. Currently first in the northern pool, France will aim to stay there to earn a final at the end of November against the top-ranked team in the southern pool, currently South Africa, which remains unbeaten, as is New Zealand, with 15 points out of a possible 15.
The match against Fiji will be played Saturday at 9:10 p.m. local time in Lyon.
As in July, all Championship of Nations matches will be broadcast on TF1. The France vs.
Fiji broadcast will be commentated by Stefan Etcheverry and Xavier Garbajosa.
France is missing numerous senior players, including Marchand, Flament, Meafou, Ramos and Jalibert, as well as emerging talents Brau-Boirie and Gazzotti. Galthié and his staff have made several adjustments for this first match.
Théo Attissogbe will start at fullback, behind a Dupont-Ntamack halfback pairing returning to the blue jersey for the first time since March 2025. In the front row, Maxime Lamothe will start at hooker, with Verhaeghe and Guillard in the second row, while François Cros will play at No. 8.
