Clara Huet wins national gold at Un des Meilleurs Apprentis de France, Digi Mart USA News (Saint-Nazaire, France): Clara Huet stepped onto the top spot of the podium at the national contest “Un des Meilleurs Apprentis de France” in the ASSP category, scoring more than 18 out of 20. Her classmate Tyméa Chauvel came very close to earning a distinction.
Both students are in the final year of the Accompagnement, Soins et Services à la Personne (ASSP) track at the Lycée Sainte-Anne in Saint-Nazaire. They traveled on November 4 to Sablé-sur-Sarthe to take part in the national final of the competition, returning with strong results.
Clara won gold, while Tyméa narrowly missed a medal, according to the jury.
After winning gold at the departmental and regional stages, the two students competed against the best candidates in France in their category. The tests covered care, comfort activities, cooking, laundry maintenance, ironing and sewing.
The challenges reflected situations close to those of the careers they are preparing for.
The school said the tests required technical skills as well as rigor, organization and adaptability to concrete situations. Several teachers supported the preparation, including Elisa Bourles and Nadège Boisrobert, with Fabrice Delaunay assisting with the cooking tests, the establishment said.
