Mexico megaoperation 32 detained Estado de Mexico, Digi Mart USA News (Estado de México, Mexico): A megaoperation against alleged criminal structures in Estado de México resulted in 32 people being detained, including two municipal police officers, according to a report from Sol Yucatán.
Among those captured are alleged leaders of the organization known as Los Gigan, which is reportedly linked to the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG). The operation included 38 simultaneous actions across nine municipalities, following seven months of investigations into extortion, homicide, drug trafficking and the illegal sale of LP gas.
Authorities identified several detainees as “Miky Juárez,” “El Gigan” and “El Pollo,” whom they described as alleged perpetrators of various criminal activities. One of the most notable results was the seizure of approximately 178,000 liters of LP gas, along with firearms, narcotics and vehicles.
Two municipal police officers from Nezahualcóyotl were also detained, raising questions about possible protection networks within security forces. Federal and state agencies took part in the operation, including the federal Secretariat of Security, Defense, the Navy, the National Guard, the Attorney General’s Office, Mexico State authorities and Pemex personnel.
Secretary of Security Omar García Harfuch reported that investigations will continue to dismantle the criminal structures and their possible support networks.
