Coupe de France basketball round of 16 draw for Élan Chalon and JDA Dijon, Digi Mart USA News (Burgundy-Franche-Comté, France): The opponents for the two Burgundy basketball clubs in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France basketball competition are now known. Both clubs will face lower-division teams.
Élan Chalon will make its entry into the competition on the road in Loir-et-Cher, facing Blois, a second-division club. The match is scheduled for December 2 at the Salle du Jeu de Paume, with Jeremia Hill and his teammates traveling to face the opponent.
JDA will have a shorter trip. The Dijon club will host Berck (Pas-de-Calais), a third-division team, at the Palais des Sports.
In the previous round, the players coached by Vincent Dumestre defeated Limoges 90-74.
Both opponents play in divisions below the Burgundy clubs. Chalon faces a one-division gap against Blois, and Dijon faces a two-division gap against Berck.
As a result, the matches will begin with handicaps: 7 points for Élan and 14 points for JDA.
Separately, Élan Chalon point guard Mathéo Leray, who has had an excellent start to the season, has been called up by French national team coach Frédéric Fauthoux for the next two World Cup 2027 qualifying matches, including one against Sweden in Dijon.
The Betclic Elite 2026-2027 schedule has also been released. Élan Chalon and JDA Dijon will both open at home, against Limoges and Strasbourg respectively.
The first Burgundy derby is scheduled for January 9 at the Palais des Sports, with the return match planned for mid-February at the Colisée.
