Mexico Digital Transformation Advisory Council for Health Sector, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo presented the new Advisory Council for the Digital Transformation of the Health Sector, a group of scientists who will help transform and modernize the health system by creating an automated process for delivering medicines and medical supplies at the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) and IMSS Bienestar.
The initiative was announced on October 23, 2026, alongside three major priority projects: a real-time request mechanism for needs, warehouse and inventory management, and a last-mile delivery logistics platform.
The proposal seeks to integrate information on stock, demand and distribution to optimize supply routes, anticipate needs and improve the traceability of each medicine. Authorities expect this approach to reduce availability problems and provide more precise information for planning purchases and distribution.
According to the official announcement, the Council is expected to present its first results in November, while implementation of the project is planned to begin in January 2027.
