Mexico highway closures and blockades November 5, 2026, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): El Heraldo de México reports that partial and total road closures and blockades are expected on the country’s most heavily traveled highways on Thursday, November 5, 2026. The publisher is providing live updates for drivers seeking to follow traffic disruptions from early in the day.
According to the report, the closures are not caused only by protest blockades. Accidents, maintenance work, insecurity, adverse weather and other incidents on the roads can also lead to partial or total closures of traffic.
The publisher states that real-time information is provided by the National Guard, Carreteras y Caminos, and Caminos y Puentes Federales de Ingresos y Servicios Conexos (Capufe), which manage Mexico’s federal highways. Privately operated toll motorways, which are known as “de cuota” roads, are managed by private companies and are not covered by these agencies.
The report lists several current disruptions. A partial closure is in effect on the Acatzingo to Ciudad Mendoza highway at kilometer 226, in the direction of Ciudad Mendoza.
A total closure is in place on the Isla to Acayucan highway at kilometer 172, in the direction of Acayucan, due to an accident response.
Another partial closure affects the Gómez Palacio to Corralitos highway at kilometer 163, in the direction of Corralitos, also due to an accident response. A partial closure at kilometer 027+100, in the direction of Saltillo, is also reported for accident response.
