Democratic Midterm Gains Unlikely to Improve U.S.-Mexico Relations, Experts Say

US-Mexico relations after Democratic midterm gains: Experts cited by Nación321 say the Democrats' decisive election victory, which returned control of the House and Senate, may not benefit Mexico and could leave the relationship unchanged despite a weakened Trump political position.

US-Mexico relations after Democratic midterm gains, Digi Mart USA News: The decisive victory of Democrats over Republicans in the United States elections held last Tuesday opened a deep wound in the political power of President Donald Trump, a result that will not necessarily benefit Mexico.

Political experts quoted by Nación321 say that although the electoral channeling of social discontent with the Trump administration returned control of the House of Representatives and the Senate to Democrats, this does not per se translate into good news for Mexico.

After elections that produced a “Black Tuesday” for Trump and his party, Democrats regained control of both chambers of Congress and delivered a decisive setback to Republican control in Washington. This opens a new era of legislative opposition that President Trump will have to navigate in the little more than two years remaining in his second term.
