Mexico 2027 bridge holidays and public holidays calendar, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): Anyone already planning upcoming trips may want to review the 2027 calendar now. Knowing rest days in advance allows people to search for flights, compare accommodations and arrange vacations at work before prices rise.
Mexico will have eight mandatory rest days next year, but not all of them will create long weekends. Some fall on a Saturday or Sunday, which means fewer opportunities for short trips.
In total, there will be four official three-day weekends and one date that can provide four days of rest by requesting only one vacation day. Here is how the calendar is laid out.
The year will have four long weekends that can be enjoyed without requesting vacation days:
Friday, January 1. 2027 begins with a long weekend. Because New Year’s Day falls on a Friday, people will have three days to rest or take the first trip of the year.
Monday, February 1. The anniversary of the Constitution is commemorated on February 5, but the rest day is moved to the first Monday of the month.
This allows people to enjoy Saturday, January 30 through Monday, February 1.
Monday, March 15. The birthday of Benito Juárez is celebrated on March 21, but the rest day is moved to the third Monday of the month.
The bridge runs from Saturday, March 13 to Monday, March 15.
Monday, November 15. The commemoration of the Mexican Revolution, which falls on November 20, will also be moved to the third Monday.
It will be an opportunity to travel from Saturday, November 13 to Monday, November 15.
If people have flexibility at work, September offers one of the best opportunities to plan a trip.
September 16 falls on a Thursday, so people can request Friday, September 17 as a vacation day and enjoy four consecutive days of rest, from Thursday, September 16 through Sunday, September 19.
This is a good opportunity for a slightly longer trip without using many days of vacation time. If a destination is already in mind, it is advisable to plan early, since the national holidays are usually a busy travel period within Mexico.
Not all mandatory rest days will work in favor of people who work Monday through Friday. In 2027, three dates will coincide with the weekend:
Holy Week arrives at the end of March. Holy Thursday will be March 25 and Good Friday will be March 26.
Although many companies customarily give these days to their employees, neither is considered a mandatory rest day under the Federal Labor Law. Therefore, it will depend on the policies of each workplace.
For those who have these dates off, March offers travel opportunities. First, there is the bridge from March 13 to 15 and, ten days later, another rest period from Thursday, March 25 through Sunday, March 28.
Travelers with children may want to note other dates. The school calendar of the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) includes class suspensions and vacations that do not necessarily coincide with work rest days.
Final dates will depend on the school calendar the SEP publishes for the corresponding cycle, so it is advisable to check it before making reservations.
Other dates may also be considered for vacation planning: Day of the Dead, Tuesday, November 2, and Friday, December 31. Although they are not mandatory rest days, some companies may grant them or adjust their schedules.
Now that the calendar is available, people can begin thinking about which destinations they want to visit in 2027 and, above all, take advantage of the long weekends before flight and lodging prices rise.
