November 5 strike in France and Oise disruptions, Digi Mart USA News (Oise, France): Following the student movement and the Yellow Vest protests against the high cost of living, a day of strike and mobilization called by unions is planned for Thursday, November 5, 2026, across France.
In the Oise department, three protests have already been planned and confirmed by the departmental union of the CGT. Two will take place in the morning and one in the afternoon.
As at every strike day, a demonstration will take place in the city center of Compiègne, starting at 10 a.m., on the Cours Guynemer. At the same time, a second protest is scheduled for the same hour in Creil, in front of the Faïencerie.
A third gathering will take place in Beauvais, departing from Place Jeanne-Hachette, starting at 2 p.m. Three processions are expected to march through the three largest cities of the department.
The recent movement against the high cost of living had drawn limited participation in Oise: a few hundred protesters on October 17, about 300 on October 24, and slightly more than 200 last Saturday, October 31.
The strike is expected to cause disruptions on public transport, particularly on bus networks. In Beauvais, Corolis announced that lines C1, C2, 3, 4, 6, GB, NA and Chronopro 1 will be affected.
Keolis Oise, by contrast, announced normal traffic on its networks: Hauts-de-France Mobilités (perimeter 2 – KO2), TUS, Tohm, Libellule, Aire’Mob and Hoplà.
On the rail side, the SNCF confirmed that its traffic will be “strongly disrupted” across the Hauts-de-France region on Thursday, November 5. Train schedules will be available on the evening of Wednesday on the TER Hauts-de-France website, SNCF Connect or any other mobility application.
The operation of some schools and school canteens will also be disrupted. Residents are advised to contact their town hall.
