Enrique Krauze lecture in Chihuahua on Mexico’s historical trajectory, Digi Mart USA News (Chihuahua, Mexico): Historian and essayist Enrique Krauze will travel to Chihuahua on November 24 to deliver the lecture “México: Una construcción centenaria,” according to PRO Chihuahua.
The event is organized by COPARMEX Chihuahua, the business employers’ organization. Its president, Jorge Treviño Portilla, said the initiative aims to bring entrepreneurs, students, academics, professionals and the general public together with specialists to enrich public debate and better understand the processes that have shaped national life.
Treviño Portilla highlighted the importance of such forums ahead of the 2027 electoral process, arguing that critical thinking, citizen participation and informed dialogue are needed. He said the organization is nonpartisan and that its goal is to offer tools for each person to form their own judgment rather than to favor any political position.
He also said that business participation in Mexico’s development includes contributing to the strengthening of institutions, democracy and the rule of law, as well as generating investment and employment. “Looking toward 2027, we need more informed conversation, more citizen participation and less polarization,” he said.
The lecture will take place at the Salón Diamante of the Sheraton Soberano Chihuahua hotel. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., with the session scheduled from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m.
