Inés Gómez Mont extradition from United States to Mexico, Digi Mart USA News (Florida, United States): Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed confidence that the United States will carry out the extradition of Inés Gómez Mont, a former television host who is detained in Florida, where she faces a procedure related to her immigration status.
During her morning press conference on Tuesday, the president said she expects U.S. authorities to address Mexico’s request and allow Gómez Mont to face the corresponding judicial proceedings.
She also rejected claims that the investigations have political motivations.
The detention took place on October 30 in Florida. Gómez Mont remains in immigration custody at the Broward Transitional Center while her situation in the United States is being determined.
The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico (FGR) reported that Gómez Mont has three arrest warrants. One corresponds to alleged organized crime offenses and operations with funds of illicit origin; the other two are related to equated tax fraud.
Mexico submitted the request for detention for extradition purposes in September 2025. The FGR said it provided U.S.
authorities with the documentation needed to support the procedure and to establish that the judicial warrants remain in force.
The investigations against Gómez Mont are related to alleged triangulation of resources through invoice-mill companies. One case involves federal prison system contracts worth about 2,450 million pesos.
She is also accused of allegedly failing to pay more than 13 million pesos in taxes for fiscal years 2014 and 2016.
No confirmed date has been set for her transfer to Mexico. U.S.
authorities must first resolve the immigration procedure and the extradition request submitted by the Mexican government.
The FGR expects that, once Gómez Mont is handed over to Mexico, the arrest warrants can be executed and the judicial proceedings against her can continue.
